what does this mean? when nero says this?

ok i still cant change mpeg 1 or 2 to a vcd or svcd.
i changed my configuration and made my writer strictly a secondary master. i then tried to burn the cd. in nero and this is what i got.

start of simulation 2x
reset occured
invalid write state
could not perform end task
simulation failed at 2x


ok if anyone can help me out please and thanks..

i did not defrag my computer yet because i was defragmenting it this morning and it was 2 hours into it and still said 0 percent done and when u go see the details there is nothing there..
is that normal??

reinstall what? windows? or the software for the burner cd?

If you have a large hd and havent defraged in a while it can take days!! Did you remember to select vcd in nero?

Are you defragging in safe mode?

If not, rogue programs/drivers alter the HD causing defrag to restart.

I've had that problem with defrag, I formated the drive and reloaded all software, I am confortable with that. I also had tried defrag from dos and it didn't work.

As far as Nero goes, make sure your mpeg1 is vcd compliant. I've made over 30 vcds now that I got mine working with Nero 5038, and tried 5.5 with no noticeable difference.

ok i'm defraging right now but i have not defraged basically nbever since i reinstalled windows back in august. So days eh great....
but after defrag and reloading the software should finally work?
does the cd-rw have to be on the secondary master or does it not matter?
