    Hi all,

I have an AiW 8500DV card, running XP,
In MMC 8.5, the schedule function doesn't work when capturing in MPEG format, while in AVI it does.

Manual capture works in both formats. Curiously, I found this at ATI web site :

"ATI TV Player - cannot capture using the scheduler if video format is MPEG
This issue occurs when using a RAGE 128 product with ATI TV Player from Multimedia Center 6.00 in Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows ME.

When scheduling a video capture, if the video format has been configured for MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, the capture will appear to begin at the scheduled time but no capture will occur.

To correct this issue, obtain and install ATI Multimedia Center version 6.2 or higher."

I have XP, AiW 8500DV and MMC 8.5......it shouldn't occur...I have already uninstalled and installed both old and new drivers countless times, with no results, frustrating

    I e-mailed ATI but all I had back were a bunch of automated messages;

Please, does anyone know something ?

    Thanks,

    Andre

I have exactly the opposite problem.
Mpeg captures always work - AVI capture almost never work.

I got nothing out of ATI

    ATI suckz big time!

I have several AiW ATi cards and had problems. Called TI and they charged me about $39 support fee, a wast of money, their HELP was worthless, less than worthless.

After buying nothing but ATI cards for a few years, I will not buy another one. WHY, simple support once upon a time was ok/functional, now they charge you for support that is not even support, just take you money.

I ahve no idea what card/s I will buy in the future as I have not bought any other brand for a long time, that WILL CHANGE!

  5. I have the same frustration with ATI. I got a 9700 Pro but could never get the infinite loop problem fixed even with all the ideas. Bought a 9800 Pro and it works but is hot and is much louder from fan noise.

I wanted a high quality TV card just to watch TV on my computer monitor. They just released their TV Wonder Pro PCI. I called pre-sales and they said it was great and there would be no problems with my 9800 Pro. I bought it. 3 phone calls later and it still does not work because the card comes with MMC 82 which is not compatable with any of the drivers or software for my 9800 Pro. The video quality is very poor compared to their AIW cards. I am surprised they are even selling it.

Anyone know of a solid TV card for just watching TV with great picture quality?
