  1. Help Me!

I'm converting my VHS tapes to DVD and am using Virtua Dub with the Picvideo MJPEG compressor at Level 19
    25fps and
Pal DV Audio 48khz Audio at 210kb/s

Now the file is just under 3 hours long and when I go to convert into MPEG using TMPGenc I get no sound on the other end even though it plays fine in the AVI.....

When its short files it converts fine and I've also tried seperating the files into AVI and also a WAV file but it does not do the trick...

Please help me I wanna get this video send out for an anniversary as a gift....SOB SOB SOB (Violins play...)

    Cheers!

Sorry, that was my answer. If you had mentioned that in your original post it would have saved us both some time. Sorry.

So what happened when you separated the wave from the file?

  7. First of all fozzy reading the guides is the best place to start. What you can learn from them can/will help you both now and with future projects. Check out this guide.....http://dvd-hq.info/Compression.html

As you have just read this guide you will surely remember that it reccomends NOT using Tmpgenc for your audio portion. AC3 and PCM are the standards most dvd encoding software work with. What software will you use to encode ??? What audio formats does it work with......best to convert your wav to one of them then create your DVD......

  8. Figured it out!

While I was posting here I found a person with not the exact same problem as mine but a Similar problem with sound....Turns out I had to increase the Priority of Dircetshow in the Enviromental settings and now it does the job fine....

One question though I've got it to work but have absolutly no idea why I had to turn this setting up.....If someone could explain this to me that would be fantastic....Cheers!
