A friend sent me a VCD which I can't seem to make a copy. It does seems to have problem playing on one of my DVD players. So I'm trying to fix it using TMPGEnc's De-Multiplex. However, after I loaded the video and audio files and hit Run - TMPGenc gave me an error saying illegal video stream. What does this mean?
Is there any other way to fix a VCD and burn it onto a new CD? By the way I was following this fix guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/126673.php

when you do this in TMPGENC, is the tab at the top say Video-CD or does it have another option? It should say video-CD.
What "problem" does the VCD have when you play it on your dvd player that you have confirmed plays VCD (not just CD-R). Do other VCd's play OK. Is the VCD a true spec'd VCD (1150bitrate, 44.1mhz audio, 23.976 or 29.976 fps *NTSC)
Does it play fine in your friends dvd player? It sounds like from what you wrote, the VCD is NOT a true VCD. Post the specs of the file.
