Stand-alone is Sony NS725P which is region free (supports 1-6). DVD when input, comes up with error that Playback prohibited due to area restrictions. DVD Decryptor shows DVD says it supports regions 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Could that 7 & 8 be causing the problem? How can I recode the DVD to modify the region, if so?
Thanks.

Region 7&8 are not used in commercial DVDs.
7 is reserved, and 8 is for special venues like on airplanes for in-flight movies, concerts, cruise ships, etc... Basically used when the manufacturer wants to show the film in public, but does not want the disk used by individuals."A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."
