I'm trying to do a dvd author comparison and all dvd author features will also be searchable in the tools list. But finding all features for all tools is a huge work so I would like some help add all features to all tools...if you are interested let me know.
You will add all features using your browser, you can test now:
https://www.videohelp.com/dvdauthorcomparison.php (just click on a feature to enable it and click again to disable it).
I can very easily change the feature description and also add or remove features. I will also add so you can add a comment for each feature, like how many audio tracks, subtitles the authoring tool supports and so.

Ok. Tried to help by adding some ticks for Ulead DVDWS.
But a comment area would be good becasue by the feature descriptions, it may have that feature, but bit a bit limited. For instance, editable linking. Yes you can. but limited. Also there's a version that does AC3, but it is in an upgrade or add-on. Things like that.
I'm not sure what "Chapter editing" means - other than selecting chapter points? Also unsure of "author tool still active". Do you mean still available?
Hope that helps so far. I'll keep popping back.
Great idea, Baldrick!

Oh! I just re-read your post. I think I've jumped the gun. Did you not want us to make entries yet? So sorry. I was rushing to help. Hope I have not done too much damage. :c(There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts. -
You need to let the bottom frame expand to the full size of the window.
Also, I don't know what the specific names of the DVD features are, but:
- DVD Text
- Playlists
- Full PBC programmability
- Pre & Post command programming -
It is mainly for testing now....so don't spend time select everything yet....I may change it a bit.
Chapter editing...not sure yet, maybe chapter editing using a video editor.
Still active means still updated and available.
I'm not really sure how to split up addons...maybe add it as another new authoring tool or eles it would become too complex. -
Yeah that's tricky. Perhaps? a box we could check if there's additional info - that links to a separate comments listing page? like a thread?
Glad I didn't do too much harm. :c)There's no place like 127.0.0.1

You can now add comments to each feature.
I added dvd text also.
www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdauthorcomparison (click on each to feature to update it)
Only I can update it now. If you are interested in helping me add features let me know and I will add your username(you will have to be logged in to the forum to be able to post).
All features will be searchable from the tools lists, like dvd authoring tools with svcd import support:
https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=§ionselect=&orderby=Name&convert=&dvdauthorfeatures=6
I will also make a better comparison page for public use to easy compare all tools later.
I can also very easy add or change the features in the list. -
Hi there,
the entries for MyDVD and DVD-Lab need updating.
MyDVD has got a Dolby 2/0 encoder from version 5 and always had mpeg2 audio. It has an Mpeg2 video encoder.
DVD-Lab can only create 1 audio stream but includes more if you import a VOB - It also imports DTS and Template menus. -
Thanks. I have just started added features so it will take a while before it is finished.

I'd be happy to help keep anything I'm familiar with updated. DVDWorkshop looks pretty thorough at a quick glance.
Excellent work, Baldrick. It's appreciated. :c)There's no place like 127.0.0.1

gees: try edit now, click on a feature and change it.

Yes, Baldrick. It works perfectly. :c)
The only thing users must be careful about is to be sure to scroll so that the boxes show under the correct product. You've helped with that by also titling the edit box. That's a huge help.
I think you've done a superb job on what is a pretty gruesome task! :c) I envy your skills. :c)
Sorry so long in replying. NTL broadband in my area is dropping in and out all day today. There's no place like 127.0.0.1

I haven't have time to update it...you can still search by author feature in the toools section.
I must add you if you want to edit it. And you must use internet explorer...looks like hell in firefox. -
Up to you. I just noticed the info for dvdlab and pro is a little outdated. I do use IE, with all it's flaws
but we won't get into that here.
Cheers, Jim
