help needed.

hi i am buying a dvd writer this weekend and i have loads of films i have managed to download via kazaa. they are all in avi format well 98 % of them.

just wondered is it as simple as just dragging the film over onto the new cd window and will it play on my dvd player or is it more complex. any help would be great.
