  1. I'm trying to convert a divx movie to dvd but can't figure out how to convert the audio. I'm new to this, mainly work with dvd-r, so any help would be appreciated.
The information I got from gspot is as follows: audio codec: ac3 (0x2000) dolby lab. Bitrate: 384 kb/s (5 ch) CBR 48000hz
    Thanks, Tony

I suggest you use Virtual Dub mod and frameserve to TMPGEnc.

I just recently had the same problem. and this is how i solved it. Unfortunately you'll lose the 5:1 Ac3 audio in the process.

You'll need Goldwave to extract the audio from the divx file and then convert it to wav. Once you have it in wave format then I guess you know what to do. Open TMPGEnc load the video file in the video box and the wav file in the audio box.....

If you need further help just e-mail me doctorag2003@yahoo.com

I personally do one other thing after I have the wav file I transcode it to mp2 format, using other software, since TMPNGEnc audio encoder isn't very good. In most cases I can get back above average sound from the file.......

Do a Direct stream copy of the Audio in VirtualDub. Apply Ac3Fix to the resultant output, encode the video only with Tmpgenc and then multiplex the m2v and ac3 that way you will not loose the 5.1 sound.

  9. Seems i can't even get started. Every program i use, goldwave, virtualdub, says the audio is unsupported. I think i don't have the codec installed. How do i proceed? Tony

When you say Virtual Dub, do you mean Virtual Dub mod, or normal Virtual Dub.
    Hello.

  11. I'm sorry it was virtualdub mod. I can save it as a wav. file but when i try to import it into TMPGenc plus 2.5 it says it is an unsupported file.
