You know in some DVD's, instead of having static thumbnail pictures showing a scene to jump to, they instead have a thumbnail video showing about 10 seconds from that scene?
I would like to make such a menu for my SVCDs. TSCV has such an option, but I can't get it to work.
I've read that Premiere or Mediastudio can make them, but no one ever shows how.
Here's what I want to do:
- static bacground (or even motion background)
- 9 thumbnail videos about 120x80 or something like that
- all thumbnail videos showing 10 seconds of video before looping over again
I can make bmp sequences of all the thumbnail clips in the right size, if I could just find a tool that would do a batch operation in which it would take the background image, and take consecutive smaller bmps from the clips and superimpose them over the background in predetermined places and save the new bmp.
For example:
- I want 10 seconds of each thumbnail clip, so I make a 10 seconds worth of bmp sequences of the right size for each (600 frames each?)
- I then pick a static background a determine the placement of all nine thumbnail clips on that background
- I then start a program which will load the thumbnail bmp sequence picture 1 of each thumbnail, impose it in the right place and save the new image to a new folder. This happens for each frame until I get 600 frames which are the background, plus each frame of the thumbnails in the right position.
- I can them run this sequence through TMPGEnc to get the mpeg I use for the menu in TSCV or whatever.
Does anyone know a tool that would do this? Better yet, can someone point me to a tutorial or give step-by-step instructions on this, instead of just saying "Oh, Premiere can do it".
Thank you if you can help.

all i can say is TSCV is the way to go. I know you said you can't get it to work but if you want and i am willing i can walk you through it. Maybe we can hook up over icq and go through it together. i have no problem with Tscv and what you want, Tscv is known for. I know alot of people have trouble with Tscv and i think most of it is just small things that are screwing everything up. if you want email me or icq me and we can get started.
