remember that program that would capture from a minidv's firewire port to avi. It was less then 100K and had no options, but damn it worked great!

Yes, you mean DVIO. it's a great tiny wittle app. I use it all the time.. nothing else.
I don't use those w/ windows to view video in, cause my Satellite or other
devices have either their own separate extra composite plug, or an OUT
feature.
And, I use mine w/ my mostly w/ my Satellite projects w/ ADVC-100.
There's a few things this little gem is lacking in, such as:
* pause/resume button
* incremental counter for saving segmented avi at user option.. ie, 01.avi;
...02.avi; 03.avi etc etc.
* and a few other items to inlcude in "wish list"
But, I heard the developer no long supports this app. v1.32 is latest and
last one you'll ever get..but, at least you can enjoy it

thank you!!
that little program is amazing. I load the finished avi into other programs for editting, but nothing beats it for capturing. I dont know why I didnt see it, but I didnt have much time to look either.
thanks again for your help, no complaints here on the software. It doesnt exactly what I want it to do, although perhaps a shut-off timer. oh well.
