I have a DivX AVI with 5.1Ch ACM audio. I was attempting to rip the audio to a WAV with VirtualDub like I always do (before encoding the video and audio together in TMPGEnc). I received a message saying that a suitable decompressor was not found. I searched on Google for ACM decompressor, and found one here: http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/AC3ACM/. Anyway, I installed it, and tried again. This time, VirtualDub ripped the audio, except the output WAV seemed a fair bit quieter than the source.

I suppose this is probably to do with the choice of ACM compressor. Could anyone suggest a good one?

    Many thanks in advance.

The file size is usually double size, make sure u have space.
