  1. OK... this is my first day burning DVDs.

I have DVD5 to DVD5 and DVD9 to 2xDVD5 down cold... no problems there.

I am using DVD Decrypter by itself for the DVD5 to DVD5 backups.

For the DVD9 to 2xDVD5 backups I'm ripping with DVD Decrypter, then splitting with DVDFab, then burning with CopyToDVD.

So... I get to my first attempt to backup one of my DVDs that has multiple episodes of a show on it. DVD Decrypter is ripping away... and I am surfing around, looking at more info on DVD backups.

Judging from the info on DVDFabs website... it isn't possible to backup DVDs with multiple episodes! It says that in September a solution will be available... does anybody know anything about this? Any inside information? Will there be a new version Monday? Or is there another solution? Help... MOST of my DVDs are multi-episode

    Hello

Here are some guides that contain info that would be helpfull in doing what you want to do even though the guides may not be as specific as you may like:

    1.) http://www.myguides.0catch.com/Guide.html

    2.) https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/120021.php

    3.) http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ifoedit-2dvdrs.htm

    4.) https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/141975.php

    5.) http://users.pandora.be/rudy.stremersch/

I think links 4 and 5 probably give you most of what you want.
Basically you will want to rip each individual EPISODE and then put it all back together again with IFOEdit. That seems to be the best way to do it. No I haven't actually tried it myself but I've read of other people backing up EPISODE discs using IFOEdit but unfortunately I couldn't find an all-in-one guide on how to do this.

You might want to take a look at the guides on the doom9 website as they also have some great guides on many subjects so there might be something there on this as well.

    Good Luck!

Pardon me, but would you first read the rules on this site and word your request accordingly. You can back-up DVDs you own using DVD Shrink which can be found in the tools section. Or you can go the DVDXCopy route and check the full disk option. If you select just movie it will only write the largest episode and miss the others. DVD Shrink allows you to drag each episode you want and then reauthor the disk to file on your hard drive. Burn that resulting file from there. And as previously said read the guides section, a great source of step by step how too's. Good luck!

I used DVDShrink compressing half the episodes into nonexistance. Then repeat with the other half. Splits episode disc to 2 keeps the extras, and none of the DVDXcopy weirdness.

Now however I do the same thing with Nero Recode because of its ability to replace video with a frand saying Video Removed.

I have the same basic question, but I am converting PAL to NTSC along the way (have bought UK DVDs, need to convert so I can play them on any dvd player, not just my multi-region, PAL/NTSC player).

I've successfully ripped all the episodes, and converted to NTSC (using frame-rate conversion and resizing of frames in TMPG). I have 'perfect' MPG files. I can burn them to DVD but I don't get any chapter marks within the episode. I'm guessing I can't just use IFO Edit or similar 'as is', since my movie lengths have changed slightly (I'm actually adjusting the length of the episodes during the conversion process).

So I need to know how to 'create' chapter markers in the new output stream. I'd happily live with the existing chapter markers, if possible, even though they would be 'off' by a little - but I doubt that would work!
