This may be olds news to everyone but I tried capturing both live TV and DVD (from my Apex 600a - no macro) last night thru my AIW 128 (16 mb) with latest VirtualDub in Divx 4.01 - 320 by 240, 1 pass quality based, 'fast compression', quality slide set on 90% and audio set to capture wav. I have a dual pII 400 Xeon with 128 mb, and a SCSI Ultra II capture drive (oldie but a goodie!) and have been running XP for about 3 weeks. (I had to install the latest Win 2k beta drivers for the Rage 128 to get all functions back) This was the first time I had captured realtime with the final OpenDivx codec and I was blown away. It looks fantastic when output to my tv thru the ATI card and pretty darn good ont he Computer monitor. I reencoded the audio of the capture with the hacked WMA codec and was happy with the filesize (the files are at home so I can't quote specifics on filesize). I am in the process of convincing my co-worker to give up the lame Hauppauge MPEG1 board realtime captures for this procedure (if sci-fi channel broadcasts it - he captures it) Anyone else using this codec for realtime capture?
