    Hi I have a film which at the moment is in .asf format and I wish to convert it into VCD format. I am using the TMPGenc program and when I have followed the tutorial it is saying it will take around 17 hours to complete each file. Is this right or am I missing something?

    and, the answer is, "it depends"...

    the primary factors affecting total encoding time is:

    1) your machine's CPU speed
    2) the rez of your output MPEG
    3) the length of the source audio/video
