I've done a ton of VCDs but this will be a new ball game

so humor me for a while

All I can say is; Any nut with stripped threads can create a vcd. To create a dvd, it requires a few more brain cells. But when you've figured it out, you'll never go back.

It was a toss up between the Optorite and the Pioneer. I got the pioneer for $167 black bezal. The Optorite was about the same price.....

Yep, DVD-R, 5 movie backups, 1 had pixelation at the end (used DVD2one with it)
DVD+R, 2 with ghost

I'm working on moving a bunch of CDR archives to DVD+R

No way!! I taught my hamster to backup DVD to DVDr. Only takes one (1) program to do DVD5 to DVDr (DVDdecrypter) and two prgrams to do DVD9 to DVDr (DVDShrink and your choice of burning program)

To do DVD to VCD requires a PHD and your choice of 10 programs out of 100 available. Most of which were confusing, non-user friendly, time consuming and not for free!

Skip the VCD and jump into the DVDr

I found DVD to VCD fun, but rather time consuming. I used DVD2SVD for everything. I modified one of the templates till I got the out put to look as good as possible for VCD. My standalone wouldn't play SVCDs, not even with the header trick....always had a stutter problem. I just need to find a program that works the best for me. So far, that seems to IC. I don't want to experiment too much, because I don't have any -RWs just -Rs and they're too expensive for experimentation in my case.

Any nut with stripped threads can copy a DVD.

I got one..how about when someone's crying and and you go upto them and ask "are you okay"(thats a stupid question to begin with) and they replay "yeah" and start crying harder
