I had to recently return my X-box to get a new one because it was failing and now for some reason my new X-box won't play any of the DVDs I have archived. The old one worked fine. Does anyone know why or how to fix this problem??

xbox has used I believe 3 different DVD drives in it now. it may just be that the new one has a different drive models that doesn't handle the media as well as the old one did.

My X-box wont handle anything burned with NERO. Others have had this problem. Not sure if you have the same problem or not but you might want to check it out.

It is either a drive or media problem, mine is exactly the same, as it is very pick on what media is put i, and what it was burned with, at the moment I am using Riteks and touch wood seems to get on ok with them..

I have written many DVDs for many XBOXs and I have used only one brand of DVD Memorex DVD-R 4x. And have not had a problem with the DVD drives not being able to read the disc. Every XBOX tried had diffrent DVD drives. One had a Thomson another a old Philips a SamSung that plays CD-Rs and a New Philips that plays CD-Rs. I never had to "force compatibility mode" I just used the DVD-Video mode in the New Compliation menu.
