Just a real easy / quick question:

I'm converting a DivX to DVD that has an input resolution of 640 x 272 (i.e. 2.35:1), do I need to framserve / resize to get the black bars above and below in Mainconcept. I did a quick sample and it looks ok in Power DVD but shite in WMP. In TMPGEnc I would just use the 'Full Screen / Keep Aspect Ratio' settings but Mainconcept is so much faster.

    Any ideas?

    TIA

  2. Use AVIsynth with FITCD, this will make a script for main concept, taking care of resizing etc. Add ConvertToYUY2() to the end of your script or main concept might not accept it. Also you could use Blockbuster or other plug-ins to tidy up the AVI a bit...

    Ok,

thanks. Have downloaded and tried a few settings on FitCD to see how the AVISynth script is constructed.

Should I be using the Anamorphic tickbox on FitCD? I have a widescreen TV and some of the AVIs I have are definitely 1.85:1 or 2.35:1.

    TIA very much

Use anamorphic, as your stand-alone player will convert it to 16:9 (anamorphic) or 4:3 (letterbox) depending on its menu settings...
