  1. Hey to all,

    I have a DVD and now I have downloaded the subs for it.

    But there a 2 problems.

    1. The file's are for SVCD *.srt files. and I want to add them to a DVD, is this a problem? And if it's not, there are 3 of these file and they look like this when you read them in notepad:

    1
    00:00:51,490 --> 00:00:54,211
    Het is onvermijdelijk.

    2
    00:00:54,611 --> 00:00:55,972
    Kom op, ga daar weg.

    But when you open the next file it starts counting at 1 and not where it left off.

    2. I have realy NO idee how to add subtitles to a DVD. I have a DVD burner and a *.img file and I have VOBs of the DVD.

    Please help,

    Bey JCL

    P.S. Sorry for the incorrect spelling, my English is not so good, I'm not from Engels of the US

    DVD:

    Capture:

  3. You need to author the DVD with a program that accepts subtitle streams. I only know of 5: DVD Maestro, Scenarist, Reel DVD, Encore and IFOEdit. The first to cost ~$35k, the next two ~$550. IFOEdit is freeware. Most people here use IFOEdit

    You'll need to convert your subtitles to SUP format to work with IFOEdit. You can d/load the tools need to to this from http://www.doom9.org (SRT2SUP).

    You'll need to manual merge the various SRT files into one (for IFOEdit, the other programs could spilt the video where the subs spilt, IFOEdit only allows for one video stream thou). There are programs to make this easier (ie. don't have to ramp everyline by hand with a text editor).

    -------------------------
    WORKAROUND - if you have DVD Lab or some other authoring program that accepts VOB files, you can make several smaller VOB sets with IFOEdit, merge them, then import into DVD Lab and re-author again.

    DVD Lab only allows for 1 audio stream and doesn't support subs. This is a work around to get in more than one audio stream and/or subs.
