How to use HTML?

Just wondering how i can use HTML when posting- i'm was wanting to post a URL in another topic, but it doesn't work when i try

So you want to post a url to say yahoo ?

www.yahoo.co.uk

just type it

like has been said just type the url in, the link will be automatically created.

But i tried that, -http://www.dvdrhelp.com , but it comes up as the site for the link, not the link itself. What i wanted to know was that if i have to enable it or somthin

if you just want the link there is no need for the url tags, just type

www.dvdrhelp.com

you use the url tags if you want to create some text which has a link embedded in it.

eg

The best place for DVD

OK, am I being dumb ?
Just noticed that it says HTML is off, just to the left where i'm posting. Should this be on? How do i change it?

No it should be off, it is actually bbcode being used on this forum.
