Three weeks ago I installed my very first CD burner. Never burned any CD before this

Then I got a harebrained idea to convert a bunch of .rm and Divx files to VCD so I could watch them on my Apex AD-1200. Yes all of the files are legal stuff no warez, etc. Had no clue how to do this.

I found this site and spent about a week reading just about everything. Finally decided to use EOVideo to convert and NeroExpress to burn after reading that Nero does not convert to VCD well. Used CD-RW to test and it worked great the first time. Since then I am about halfway through my file collection and all of the discs have worked right the first time NO COASTERS! (newbie luck?) I think this is because I read everything I could, including relevant Forum posts.

Moral of the story is that newbies should spend time reading a lot of info before they try to do this sort of thing.

Is EOVideo kind of a RAM hog? I noticed an improvement in performance after putting in some more RAM, or was I just hallucinating? I thought I was seeing things because I know speed of conversion is related to processor, not RAM.

Sorry if this was too long, I will yellow card myself if it was
