  1. Hi guys

Sorry to keep posting abput pauses, don't get anoid. But its driving me crazy!

Basically I copy a movie onto dvd-r successfully, play it on Yamaha s520 and say it pauses at 44mins into movie, if I rewind back to 39mins and start watching again, it won't pause at 44mins etc, you see what I mean.

I have already been told about how their should be no pauses, except for one brief one on dual layer discs.

So can I presume that my copies are alright if pauses are random, and that the problem actually lies with my dvd player.

If so if (can) I upgrade its firmware, and will this solve the problem? Thanks. Also I don't believe problem is related to cheap media either as pauses are random!!

    help me!!!

    thanks

    steve

  3. It sounds to me that it is probably your dvd player. Try upgrading the firmware, or get a new one

This sounds like bad (cheap) media. What brand are you using? I have tried princo, memorex, dvd-on, bla bla bla. I have finaly found Ritek. They work great for me. However, pioneer and maxell brands worked but were too expensive.

  5. I agree with FT Shark, it certainly sounds like a media problem.

As mentioned try a good quality Ritek disk. Princos are often troublesome and are not so widely compatible with standalone players.

I'd put a little wager you are using Princos

That happens with me when using DVDxcopy express. It will on some movies, just stop. I then need to rewind a little and go through that part again. It doesn't happen with other programs. You might want to try changing burning programs or media.
