I can only replace audio using wav files, not mp3 ones.
Is this a "feature" or a bug in the program?
Or is it simply that I'm doing something wrong??

You are doing something wrong. Whatever your target format, be it (S)VCD or DVD, mp3 is not valid for these. Mp2 audio, on the other hand, is. In fact it is required for (S)VCD and optional for DVD. Other valid format for DVD is Ac3.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for your reply.
Now I'll have to find the way to convert my wav file to mp2.
    I don't like AC3.
I'm doing a DVD, not SVCD.

I've converted the wav to mp2 and it says: "Unable to open, file format mismatch".
It accepts to open mp3 files but it just won't replace the audio.

TmpGenc, BeSweet, toolame all will do this.

BTW, if you are in NTSC land, be careful of mp2. Mp2 audio support is not mandatory on DVD players sold in the USA, but it is required on those sold in europe. It does appear that most US DVD players will handle mp2, but not all.

[EDIT: Just realised you are in Europe, so it shouldn't be a problem! ]

As I've said before UDMF2 won't support mp2 files to replace the audio track, File format MIsmatch it says.
Done with a wav file but it takes a lot of space.

I can replace audio using .wav files here on my three workstations running Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.

I can *also* replace audio using .mp3 files using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 on my three workstations.

Sorry, I can't reproduce the issue you describe.

    Suggestions for you to consider:

    1. Uninstall and re-install Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 (perhaps your installation was problematic);

    2. If your installation of Microsoft Windows is especially precarious then it might pay to reformat your c: (system) drive and perform a clean installation of Microsoft Windows.

I'm the first to admit that it's a lot of work to perform a system drive reformat and clean installation of Windows.

But sometimes - when the registry of Windows gets turned upside down and turned inside out - it gets confused and causes many programs to function improperly.

Unfortunately, Microsoft Windows is still not a perfect operating system.

I've just reformatted TWO days ago and my system works perfect (Win XP Pro).
The curious thing is that I tried to uninstall and install it again with the same problem, not now only, but since the last months.
Also tried version 2.0 and the 2.1 upgrade.
No way, this computer won't replace mp3 files, and checked on the help files and it says it "must" work with mp3 files, but I've been unable to make it work in 6 months, and formatted my HD several times.
I have no clue where can be the problem.
