    i have a downloaded avi file and when i play it though windows media player or try to covert it to mpg it gets to a certain part of the movie and the video will pause at that point but the audio will continue.

    i have some other downloaded videos that this happens on aswell

    how do i fix it?

    Use virtualdub to scan it for bad frames. If it has VBR encoded audio use vdub mp3 freeze.
