Load the ASF file in VirtualDub 1.3c, then attempt to convert to AVI (do the audio and video compression settings matter?). When the conversion begins, I get:

    Sylia script error
    expected ')'

    Any ideas?

I'm trying to make some files I downloaded smaller in size (both physically (MB) and horiz/vert).

These are TV shows that I can watch anytime.

Call that "warez" if you want.

Convert all other versions of Virtualdub you have to zip files and store. Then delete all the originals. Then try again. Apparently The older versions of Vdub do not accept wmv files if newer versions are present on your HD.

Thanks, mgh, that got me past that error.

Now, regardless of which audio compression scheme I choose, I get the error:

    "Error initializing audio stream compression:
The requested conversion is not possible"

Any ideas on what to do there?

Try loading file in TMPGEnc without wizard-Use File-Output to file-wav. In TMPGEnc while loading select all files.
    In Virtualdub-Audio-Wav audio..

That will probably work. I'm looking for a 1-step method to make it smaller. Just using TMPGenc worked and saved as an MPEG w/ lower resolution & audio settings. Thanks.
