  1. I just purchase a Pioneer DVR-106D (OEM Version) recently and I trying making a backup copy of one of my movie with CloneDVD and AnyDVD and the end result was upsetting.

Media Type: Vebratim and Fuji DVD+R

After creating a backup copy with Clonedvd, nothing will play not even the Pioneer DVR-106D itself.

I double click on The Pioneer drive on My Document and the data capacity shows 0.

I try setting the regional code to 1 which is United States under Clonedvd and still wouldn't work. Clonedvd and Anydvd did not give me any problem with burning the dvd but the problem comes when playback

2nd problem, Window Media Player is not compatible with Pioneer DVR-106D drive, it show an error message asking for a updated decoder.

Has anyone experience this problem before or know a fix. Please provide detail instruction. I'm thinking of returning the drive soon if I can't find a solution. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

  2. I have a Pioneer DVR-106D + i bought an external usb 2 case,I have to admit when i add in DVD-R's it also says 0 bytes even though the dvd is brand new out of the packaging it recognises every other dvd format + cdr/rw's but even though it says 0 bytes i can still burn on to the DVD-r fine,The only program that i have that doesn't recognise my pioneer is VOB Instant CD/DVD which recognises it but it always says it is not configured properly or the drive is blank,So instead i use Nero V6 and that works fine.

Also when you say windows media player is not compatible with the pioneer exactly what do you mean,Do you mean it won't play the burned dvd's because it works fine for me,The only thing that i can think off is try clicking on my computer then right click on the dvd drive icon then click properties click on the recording tab and check enable recording on this drive then restart clone dvd and see what happens other than that it could be anything from the wrong brand media(I bought a 100cd-r spindle from ebay brand called DataSafe Media they were expensive and only 1 in 4 worked properly with my Ricoh Cd Burner,The rest even though it said they burned fine would not play for the love of money. So get a trial version of nero insert your file, select your settings etc and then get it to verify the data when burning and if it doesn't work then it is your DVD media that is causing all the problems.
