  1. I burned my video ts folder on dvd set as dvd video once and my dvd player displayed it as a cd rom.

Why doesnt dvd video created by myself play on my standalone, and if i do burn dvd video dvds how do i know if they will play on other ppls dvd players in that format other than dvd utf which is the setting i use to burn movies?

  4. I created the video ts file through ifoedit in some cases, but others i have just copied direct from a dvd disk

Im usign nero 6.0.1.1 or something like that.

I have burned with dvd video and dvd utf (utf setting at lowest setting for more compatability)with what did you process it.

    Standalone dvd player is Alba.

Have you read through the thread "if your nero burned discs don't work, read this!" ?
Different versions on Nero have different issues, so it may be as simple as down/upgrading your version. I've always burned just as DVD-Video with no problems, i will let you know what version i am using later tonight.
