My SVCD's do not play correctly. Video is perfect, but audio has dropouts and also becomes unsynchronized with the video, as if the mpg's were poorly multiplexed. However, I checked playback with PowerDVD on my PC and the mpg's are flawless as you can get when written at 2400 to 2600 kbps. This is how I narrowed the problem down to being my Apex 660, but at present am at a lost for a solution. Can anyone help me please?

It's not the player its your encoding. Good luck. It can be a long process to educate yourself but the rewards are fruitful.

Locco . . . check out http://www.nerd-out.com/forum/list.php?f=17.
The Apex 660 is OK - my encoding techniques were the cause of my playback audio problems. Also, using VCDImager Easy, I failed to have incorporated playback control information in my SVCD's, so when I used fast forward or reverse on the APEX 660, the audio and video became way out of synch. -
i have a program playing back xsvcd using the tmpg dvd template.
also with i frame only encoding.
