I know that when encodeing a video, the faster the cpu the faster the video with encode. But my question is will a better and newer cpu ( such as a P4) porduce better end rusults in how the video looks?

For encoding "off line", No. You should be able to do everything on a slower (within reason) machine at the same quality. It would just take longer.
Not a bad question, because:
For something like capture, more horsepower would allow you to do things you could not do on a slower machine. -
Thats cool. I have a old slower machine that i was thinking about doing some encodeing on. Time isnt and issue. Thanks for the info.
