  1. Hi all,
i'm sure that this question has already been asked before but i've search in this forum, read a lot of comments and... i'm going mad...
    I have a movie with AC3 2.0 and i would like to transform it in AC3 5.1.
My decoder uses Dolby Prologic to decode the sound on my Home Theater. So i would like make the self decoding but with software.
    My Idea is to:
extract from AC3 2.0 with a Dolby Prologic decoder to create 6 wavs
    transform 6 wavs to AC3 5.1.

Is it possible and if yes with wich tools for the extract and the transform.

    Tks a lot.

yes it's possible. if your sound track is Dolby Surround encoded (not all 2.0 files are) then you can extract a rear and centre channel.

But why bother? what is the point? any Dolby Digital 5.1 reciever you plug into could just as easily decode the stereo in Pro-Logic. you don't gain anything by recording a Pro-Logic output and creating a 5.1 file.

And yes, this is covered about 2 topics down. and about 5 topics down. and about 10 topics down.
