Going to make my HTPC a digital Video.
I'm comparing the WinTV PVR-250 from Hauppauge and the VideOh! PCI from adaptec. The later card is most intresting since it only costs me $75 instead of $120 for the WINTV card.
What i need is a card with Hardware mpeg2 encoding (real time mpeg2 encoding is not the same as hardware encoding) and with working WDM drivers. WinTV PVR-250 fulfiles these requirements. But i havent found the data on the adaptec card. Why i need mpeg2 hardware encode is because the via mini-itx CPU cant handle the task of software encofing, and the front-end menu system called myHTPC only works with WDM driver cards.
SO does anyone know if this card works for this? Or do you even have experience with the VideOh! PCI card and myHTPC?
Thanks in advance, Anders
