  1. Ok, I filmed a friend's work out class on a MiniDV camcorder. I am transferring it to my computer HD (in AVI format to start obviously)

We want to splice some action shots together, add some music and make the opening very "Action" oriented. Then add in some segments from class of her talking and instructing, etc,etc..

    ANYWAY, getting off topic.

The end goal is to make this project and then export it BACK to the MiniDV

From there we can record it to VHS

    How can this be done?

    I have a JVC 805U MiniDV Camcorder

    Ulead Video Studio Basic
    Adobe Premiere 6.0

    Firewire card

What format should I work with ON the computer? ) What format do I want the video to splice and edit)

What format do I need the end result in to record back onto the camcorder?

You should keep it as the same format of AVI that you get from the camera. then there should be some way of sending the finished project back to the camera by firewire. I find that EditStudio is an easier program to understand. There is a full function demo available from them. You could do the entire project with the demo fairly easily. They also have a user forum at their site for specific questions. Or ask in the editing forum here, and I'll try to help you. Others can help you with the other 2 programs, but I am not familiar with them.

You might also want to get DVio as this tool may be required to accomplish your goals. It's free, and should be linked, if not go to the tools section, indicated at the left of the screen.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
