Does anybody else have this problem when encoding AVI to MPEG-2,It encodes fine but when the finished file is played back it looks not very good. The skin tones,Hair etc look reddish and darker than the original,I messed about with the program to find out what was causing this & found this to be the problem
In the Video Settings there is an option called YUV Format and you are supposed to select from the following settings
4:2:0 Color component is reduced to 1/4,Reddish part may stand out nd looks like a lower resolution
4:2:2 Color Component is reduced to 1/2,This format cannot be used in default setting
4:4:4 No color reduction in this format,This is not not supported in TMPGenc
So when the finished File is played it doesn't look very nice,So when converting AVI to MPEG-2(25FPS PAL),It only allows you to select the 4:2:0 option the reduced the color component to 1/4,So i have tried under the advanced setting to select Simple Color Correction and played about with the settings but it never seems right,So i was hoping if somebody with more experience with this could hopefully be able to tell me the correct settings Brightness,Contrast,Gamma,Red,Blue So that things like Skin tones,Hair etc appear more real rather than reddish,Thanks James..
