  1. Hi Everyone,

I currently use dvdx2.0 (very reliable) and I just recently acquired TMPEGenc v2.520.54.163. I appreciate if someone could explain the steps as to how i can use TMPEGenc with dvdx 2.0 to get mpeg1/2 formats.

    Respectfully,

    Silent....

What exacttly are you trying to do. ?
What format is your original video in. ?
I think you do not need dvdx at all.

  3. Hi Foo,

I currently am using SmartRipper progz to rip the files off of my dvd's.
I am trying to make vcd's and svcd's.
I have heard that dvdx 2.0 can use the TMPEG codec to make mpeg-1/2 file formats...but i have yet to figure out how?

I hope some of my answers can clear up any misunderstandings...

    Dunno about dvdx
Most people either re-encode manually with TMpGenc to (S)VCD (me)
or use DVD2SVCD which does everything for you.

Sounds like you might like the "Do Everything For You" idea

I don't think that DVDx uses the TMPG codec for encoding as it has it's own built in codecs. DVDx is useful as a frameserver to TMPG. You can frameserve as an avs file or an avi file. There is a guide on this site for using DVDx as a frameserver to TMPG.

  8. They must have taken the guide off this site. Here is one at doom9.org. Go to http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdx-svcd.htm. Check out the guide for TMPG. It will show you how to use DVDx as a frameserver for it.
