  1. once again ...we see why it's not good to post about beta stuff. If you have an OEM cd...I guarantee ya that's not gonna be the same as the final. I say no more for risk of ...blah blah blah.

  3. Both Instant Copy 7 AND 8 strip closed captioning information from source DVDs! Pinnacle is aware of the problem and "has not current plans to implement closed captioning in backups." Meanwhile CloneDVD, DVD2One and others retain closed captioning just fine. DVDShrink strips closed captioning, and the author is trying to fix it, but Pinnacle doesn't care!

I have many DVDs that have no english subs but DO have closed captioning, or the closed captioning simply looks better than subtitles (i.e. smaller and less obstructive of the screen). I often turn it on to decipher low volume dialogue, etc, though I'm not hard of hearing.

As far as I'm concerned, the lack of closed captioning retention makes Instant Copy useless, and a far cry from the "1:1 copy solution" they claim.

  4. Ive not yet used IC 8. Sounds like it is just IC 7 with alot of the hacks that are out implemented out of the box. The variable precentage thing is what Ive been doing for 4-5 months. Ah well. Maybe they read Mr Bass's site and worked with it...lol. I just wish I could get in contact with him. I want to learn to do batch processing. :0-(

HOW CAN YOU READ ALL CAPS WITH CLOSED CAPTIONING. I prefer subtitles myself but to each their own. Maybe if I was deaf I could relate. My wife is Japanese so we occassionally turn on the subtitles but vary rarely as they are kinda distracting to the enjoyment of a flick. I have other things to watch for when enjoying an awesome flick...like frame to frame analysis of macroblocks... (that's a joke).

don't get wrong, the new title removable option is not the hack that was avalable for IC7.. it does corect IFO now and replace vobs, ifo and bup and not remove them like IC7 does..

I finnaly was able to make IC8 and Nero working together..
