  3. I believe the US JVC HR-M10 can play PAL but someone needs to confirm owning this recorder. Same for Sharp DV-HR300.

    Strange enough the new US Philips recorders don't list PAL anymore in their spec. I wonder if they dropped it or if it's just unadvertised now.

    LordSmurf told me that the JVC records and plays back PAL ... he just has a normal USA model.

    Philips DVDR 75/17 => YES-PLAY (does not convert); YES-BURN (if signal is PAL)
    Polaroid DVR-0800 => YES-PLAY; NO-BURN
    Panasonic DMR-E100HS => ?-PLAY; ?-BURN
    CyberHome CH-DVR 1500 => YES-PLAY; YES-BURN +AC 100V~230V, 50/60Hz
    Sharp DV-RW2U => NO-PLAY; NO-BURN
    Apex DRX-9000 => ?-PLAY; ?-BURN

    Can anybody confirm this or add new players ?
    Daytek DVR-P30 also converts PAL into NTSC and records NTSC. The trouble is it loses the aspect ratio and the bottom part of the PAL tape does not get recorded when picture is stretched vertically.
