question about tmpge 2.53 and taking out commericals

okay, what i think is a simple question

i'm trying to use tmpge version 2.53 to take out commercials of a show that I recorded

I use tmpge and then cancel wizard when it comes up and go to file, mpeg tools and then the far right column where it says merge and cut. I'm able to successfully take out on commercial and then it brings me back to the main screen where i have the options to add, delete, clear and edit. what do I do from here? I want to take out all the commercials and it seems as if it is only allowing me to do 1.

Actually, you are doing fine. Just think about the "big picture". You cannot just edit from one video but as many as you like. If you want to edit one video, fine. Just once you have selected you first cut, go back, select your same video again and select your next cut. Repeat until you have selected all the scenes you are going to keep. Then name the final cut video, and select Run. So right below you select run, you Merge & Cut Tool may look something like this:
