  2. I'm newbie here, but I just say:

I had a chance to "verify" a DVD-R which was made by E20 with using "DVD-VIDEO Verifier" which is released from DVD Forum to ensure that data and disc structure meet the DVD-VIDEO spec.

The answer is: THERE IS NO ERROR.

So I think problem is NOT the Panasonic recorder's authoring software.

Maybe Problem comes from signal quality on the burned disc, or poor optic pickup, or not-well designed control software of the player...

  4. Try this:

Make a recording at the 4 hr speed, does this play on your Daewoo?

If it does , I'll tell you why.

  5. Sorry can't do that. I don't have that burner. It was my friends. I have 1h; 1:17 and 2h recorddings and they don't play.

    So tell me why ?

  6. You have Panasonic DVD recorder , correct?

Then dub another vcr tape into the Panasonic DVD at
4 hr speed. And then play that DVD in your Daewoo.

You are concerned about your Panasonic recording DVD not compatible with your Daewoo. Clarify, if I have missed something.
I do not have a Panasonic and am interested in the result.

  8. Guys;

I am a newbie who after reading these posts for several months finally took the plunge for a DMR-E100H and LG GSA-4040B. I had read all the issues about DVD-RAM disks formatted in the writer not being recognized by the 100H, and that is surely the case. I did not think that would be an issue for me but now I realize it is. I have not gotten into authoring yet so I don't know how to do all that, but the problem for me now is mainly transferring large collections of still pictures back and forth between the Panny and my PC. The 100H will access stills on a card and DVD-RAM but not DVD-R or -RW, so it if I want to go back and forth seamlessly I have to either 1) use a CF or SD card (which is a pain), or 2) write on my PC to DVD-RAM recognized by the 100H--I assume this means I really need a Panasonic DVD-RAM burner in my PC.

Is my reasoning correct? I have also read (I think) that even all Panasonic burners do not create DVD-RAM disks that the 100H can read. Is there a multiformat Panasonic writer (preferably at least DVD-RAM and DVD-R/-RW that is KNOWN to be compatible with the Panasonic recorders? Without any reauthoring or retitling required?

    Thanks!

Huh? The Panasonics all write to DVD-R or DVD-RAM.....

    very cool machine too.

    I use Accu -r media, about $74/100

  10. Just wanted to make sure that for all Panasonic DVD writers for the PC their output in DVD-RAM is readable by the Panasonic DVD Recorders and vice versa. I thought I read somewhere that this was not necessarily the case. The new Panasonic LF-621U looks like it would fit the bill nicely but seems quite expensive (although I can't find it).

  11. nextlife1, issue that you are describing sounds like totaly different of what this post is all about. I think that it is better to open new post, so this one will stay on topic. Thanks.

  13. I think "donpedro" is right you should not have to buy a new DVD player even thow it's easy to spend $50.00 on a new DVD player. The piont is Panasonic should fix the problem. What if I want to buy a new DVD player and I'm think will it play the Panasonic DVD's.

"Saminai" Im sorry you had bd luck with Panasonic. I had a SVHS VCR for five year's now no problem's at all. Do not ask me why some people just have bad luck with some brand's. I did read one time two brother bought to APEX AD-5131 and they both did not play burn's at all I have the same DVD player and it play's ever thing. I think some time's a bunch of bad VCR or DVD come out at the same time. Some time's there asemble line problem and there might be over 10000 buggy one's. It happen's to ever company.

I have had problem playing back some DVD's the very first demo version of DVD2ONE it would play choppy on my APEX AD-5131 DVD2ONE fixed the problem and the DVD now play fine. DVDXCOPY XPRESS had the same problem choppy play back. My Sony DVD player played back the DVDONE disc fine. I think both of my DVD player had the same problem with DVDXCOPY XPRESS but DVDXCOPY XPRESS did fix the problem. I really think it's a software problem that Panasonic just has not fixed yet.

Nero also had this problem in 5510 the version that support SONY DRU500A burner. Even had the problem if you burned with any other DVD burner. No DVD-R would work with the APEX AD-5131 go back one nero version and burn the DVD again and it would work in the APEX AD-5131. my Sony DVD player did play DVD with NERO 5510 that was not burning the DVD disc right

  14. I am writing this reply so that others who do a search (yea, right ) for why their dvd player wont play panny E-30 (or other E-XX's) burned dvdr's:

What I did to solve the issue is I purchased TMPGENC DVD Author (not the TMPGENC that most people know, which is the encoder). I had the same issue with panny burned dvdr's. Actually, what I have done at this point is purchase a dvd/dvd-ram drive ($30 from www.newegg.com) and purchased a 5 pack of dvd-rams. I copy the video, rip it to my hard drive (straight copy of the .vro file) open it up in tmpgenc dvd author, add chapters, menus, etc.) and then burn it to dvd-r with my A05 dvd-r burner. EVERY one of them have worked fine an all of the dvd players that I have tested them on. If the read of this post wants to obtain additional information for the panny recorders, do a search for donpedro, he has a lot of information and quite a few links that will help you out.

You can also send me an email if you have any questions regarding the panny (I have an E-30 at this time). email is macleod1@netzero.net

What a lot of people are proposing to do with the Panasonics cannot be done, that is go from the Panny to the PC and back again. Read Gilgamesh's post about 2/3 of the way down from this post and you will learn why:

    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=325728

I only have to go from the E80 to the PC. I have no need to go back again using DVD-RAM discs...

Not sure about loss in quality since I don't know what DVD2ONE does with DVD's that can fit without re-encoding (or whatever it does), but I would say that any re-authoring will help.

  18. spiderman2k1,

I had tried dvd2one and dvdshrink in the past and neither one worked.

    Oldfart13,

I read the post and for the most part, that poster is is doing what I am doing. Not sure why you are saying that it cant be done?

Things are improving over time. My Apex AD-5131 plays the DVD-R created with a Panasonic DMR-E55.
