  1. Hi,

    I know this "issue" has probably been asked plenty of times already (mostly by me )though not exactly the same... but anyhoo, I'd risk asking it again...
    A) Is there a way to auto-launch an avi file (in divx, or xvid format)??? I mean I know I could auto-launch an mpeg file using the following on INF:
    [autorun]
    open=mplayer2.exe /play /close \nameofmoviefile.mpg
    provided that the mplayer2.exe is still existing and is still in the Windows directory

    I've already tried replacing mplayer2.exe with a divx player like DivX Player 2.0 Alpha.exe (also putting a copy of it on Windows directory)...and it launched the player successfully...the problem is that it still didn't play the movie...
    B)Why is this? and Is there a work-around to this?

    Which brings me to the Roxio player....so far, it's the only "stand-alone,os-independent" player I've encountered that almost always launches itself and plays the movie as soon as the vcd is inserted into the disc drive...(probably coz it's on the Cd itself)....the problem is...I think it only supports .dat files not...avi files, much less divx formats...so again, is there a work-around to this?

    Thanks for any inputs you may have....
