My TMPEGENC will not read mpeg layer 3 audio within my source avi file, and if i demux the audio then encode the audio sync is way off. Is there any way Tmpeg enc can read mpeg layer 3 audio files with some sort of plugin installed? Thanks.

heres the info on the audio:
055(MP3) Id'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
150 kb/s (75/ch, stereo)VBR
FS: 48000 Hz -
Have you tried saving to wave with VDub and the using the wave file as your audio input ? VBR can cause that problem.

Well, I know what you want, but I've never had much luck with VBR MP3 files and Tmpgenc without changing to .wav first. There is no "MP3 plug-in" for Tmpgenc, so you may have to read around to see if someone has a better idea. Have you tried the Tmpgenc forums @ the website ?

I also used to have nothing but problems with any VBR audio in TMPGEnc. But the latest version solved pretty much every audio problem I had. Try the latest version first. I am now able to use DivX and Xvid source files with VBR mp3 files with no problems, the DVD compliant output mpeg has perfectly sync'd audio.
