I know the answer seems obvious, but does the quality of rendered video (DV-AVI) vary depending on the software you use? Will video rendered in Premiere or Vegas be the same quality as rendering done in Movie Maker?

I like to use Movie Maker for small projects because its so simple to use, but I want to make sure I'm getting the best quality. Also does anyone know why Movie Maker 2 takes so long to render? This is also what puts me off using it.

    Thanks for your help.

You computer is the speed problem. Most people
use 1500 MHz or more. That makes the difference
between 6 hours and 3 hours.
Always encode overnight and you won't care

Also, most of the serious video nuts use TMPGenc or CCE
    for encoding.

No way, they won't be the same. Having said that, I don't know which is better. Try a few clips and compare for yourself.
