  1. Looking into getting a dvd player for a family member.

    Needs to have:

    5 disk changer
    Progressive
    North America NTSC
    dts decoder
    Optical audio
    $200-$299 Price range

    Plays.

    cd
    cd-r
    cd-rw
    dvd
    dvd+r
    dvd+rw
    mp3

    Optional:
    dvd-r
    dvd-rw

I have read our own listings in the DVD players compatibility but, want to see if anyone might know of a better (newer) model not listed.

    Did I miss any options?
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

I have my eye on one of the new Panasonic players. All the new models support those formats, as well as DVD-RAM, as far as I know. They have 2 changers with some different options. Both are under $150. Since you specified optical out, I have to guess that ths will be hooked to a sound processor of some kind. I think all the models have optical now. Check the Panasonic web site.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
