Just curious, not complaining, but what's the story of the rules? In my opinion all those except give and link to warez is covered by the freedom of speech. If it's the forum supervisors that want to have a clean forum, I'll respect that, but as I see it, there's nothing illegal about it except the two above stated rules.
Just curious... Don't wanna start a war![]()

This has actually been discussed before. There is no such thing as freedom of speech on a web forum, unless that forum were run by the government. Read the Constitution, the protection of freedom of speech does not apply to private behavior, only the Government.
We are not out to trample any people's expression, we have rules because we feel they make for a better forum. Exactly which rules are you talking about? I think the logic behind rules such as no cross posting, no hijacking threads, etc... is obvious. We don't disallow these things because they are illegal, we disallow them because they lower the quality of the board. -
And if I may add, not using offensive obscene, slanderous, and other types of language are also well thought rules, in my opinion. I see no reason for them, but at the same time me not being able to use does not make me feel I am having any personal liberties trampled upon either.
Hello. -
No rules also attracts the shady types of people we don't want here. If warez posts were allowed, this forum would be full of warez guys, which 90% of us here are not...

Freedom of speech and the protection thereof only applies to the Federal government not infringing them. As far as private property, or someone elses forum, they have the right to impose any rules they see fit.

Thank you!
Straight and respectful answers. It was mentioned that one should "Read the Constitution", remember, not all visitors are from The US, but as the server is located there as well as the operator I assume that's the legislation we're under.

Actually the operator is not in the US. Check his profile. But the server is currently resideing in the US. It moves every once in a while, depends on the price of hosting, etc.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
