  1. Me again!

    Now got audio after TMPG Encoding an .avi file to MPEG, but it's basically crap compared to the .avi audio track. Can anyone tell me either: a) how to prevent the distortion, or b) recommend a tool to fix the audio track?

    Cheers.

    open the avi in gspot and post the info for the audio and video. that way we can help you all at once instead of bit by bit.

  4. honorarybrutha - is this what you mean?

    GSpot video info:

    The following codecs all claim to be capable of processing this format:

    --> {DivX MPEG-4 Low-Motion}
    {ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder}
    {DivX MPEG-4 DVD Video Decompressor }

    DirectShow is apparently able to play the file as well (see "DirectShow Render", below),

    GSpot audio info:

    Audio Format:
    Code: 0x2000
    Name: WAVE_FORMAT_AC3
    Vendor: Dolby Laboratories, Inc

    The following codecs all claim to be capable of processing this format:

    --> {CyberLink Audio Decoder}
    {Nero Digital Audio Decoder}
    --> {AC3 from AVI XForm} --> {Nero Digital Audio Decoder}

    DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine.

    See the DirectShow Render details for more info.

  5. use VD to save it as a wav file, and feed that to tmpgenc
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

    install Odio Dekoda. should fix your problem. then load the source file in tmpgenc for both the audio and video. shouldn't need to save a wav audio out with vdub. no problems with audio sync either this way.
