Green Splotches?!

During my SVCD rips... I have noticed, quite frequently, that I get light green splotches on the pictures..

Notice it alot in dark sections of the picture.

Other than that, the pictures is great, sound is awesome..

Any suggestions on filters, etc?
I always do the high quality (slow) option with TMPEG

Usually those green splotches are a cause of a very well protected DVD which was not ripped correctly and that is why they appear, I suggest you either re-rip, or try a diffrent ripper.

Been Using Smart Ripper!!! I have used others, but I think that one is the best..

Any other rippers out there that would remove the green splotches.. (keep in mind, they are light, not really a bad distraction)

so are red blocks that sometimes appear in really black areas caused by the same thing?...or could it be that since the bitrate of any DVD rip can't match that of the actual DVD, the red blocks appear cuz of lower bitrate?

Anyway, poopyhead, what red blocks ? DVD rip means an identical DVD just located on your HDD instead of the DVD media, unless the DVD has very good protection which I doubt, it should be ripped as a one-per-one without problems.

mikldom, I love Smart Ripper just as you do, but sometimes it doesn't do it's job, and I use Sector Extractor which ripps everything, it's just more complicated to use.
