  1. Hello there

How do I make my menu the Root Menu in DVDMestro? it's easy in DVD Lab because there is an option for it but I cannot find anything in Maestro.

Also in DVDMaestro how do I add an audio track to play with my menu?

    Any help greatly appreciated

  2. hey dandino,

i am using DVD Maestro 2.9, so keep that in mind when reading below.

    - To set your root menu go to VIEW - > Connections
    - This should open up a windows with a whole bunch of cells and two columns All Sources and Target.
    - When this window is open, you can click on your various menus listed on the left hand side and the parameters in the connections window will change. (give it a try)
    - With the CONNECTIONS window open click once on the "MENUS" folder
    - now in the "CONNECTIONS" window you will see some lines at the top saying First Play, Title Menu etc. (under the All Sources Column)
    - If you right click on the cell right beside these under the Target column you can add a connection like | First Play | MainMenu | where main menu is the name of your main menu....

Give this a try, its really hard to explain,
let me know if this helps or if you need more clarification.

  3. Hey radkid

Yes I have done as you say. I can set my menu to be the "Title Menu" or I can use "First Play" so that it is the first thing to show when I play the DVD, but I cannot find any options to set it as the "Root Menu" which is not the same as "Title Menu". As I mentioned before DVD Lab does allow you to do this, but I cant see it anywhere in Maestro.

Also radkid, do you know how to add audio so that it will play along with my menu?

    Again any help greatly appreciated

I think I know what problem you are having. If you want to have a set heirarchy of menus (i.e. root menu, chapter, specials etc), you basically have to do this manually. I was using Pinnacle's impression (POS) on a project that had 3 submenus, any time you hit menu, it would go back to ONLY the root menu. This was not acceptable for my client. Meastro allows you to reference any asset when hitting the menu key. If you go to your connections for a certain asset (ie. video) it will have an item for menu (this is where the dvd will jump to if you press the menu key on yout remote). Right click and select which menu or asset you want that to point to.

    I hope this helps.

  5. If you want to connect any Key of your remote,
right-click on the "all sources" button at the connection window in Maestro and select "show advanced sources" now you will have more options
and you can connect any button on your remote (like menu, audio, subs......)

  6. Hello All,

I have the real solution for you...
In DVD Maestro Root Menu = Menu Key
each time you see menu key in your connection, you have to set a menu for that....and that menu become the root menu for that titles....
    !!!!

    LOL
