  1. I just installed windows XP on my computer. I formatted the hard drive and started with a clean install. All windows updates and proper device drivers have been installed.

My only problem is my COMPAQ DVD-ROM SD-612B will not play DVD movies. It reads CDs and data DVDs fine but it will not play any movies. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that the DVD-ROM is bad?

I have installed Power DVD and it still will not play DVD movies.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

  3. I have 384 mb or RAM and a TNT 16 mb video card. The computer plays video games pretty good so I did not think it would be anything to do with the video card. The processor is a AMD 1800.
