Stupid question maybe, but why cant you burn faster than 2x with 2x mediaIs there a function to disable the max writing speed so it doesn`t depend on the media?

It has to do with the quality of the DVD manufacture process. If 2X DVDs have been tested (I'm not actually sure if they are) then the test process has yielded an unacceptable number of errors at those higher speeds, yet they pass all the tests at the 2X speeds. You can burn 2X DVD at higher speeds, but you will induce more errors.

I guess you need
- an under-rated (good quality) 2x media
- a firmware that has the writing strategy for burning 2xmedias at 4x
- a burning program that allows it.
So if you have the chance just stick with the real 4xmedias.You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off.
