  1. Hey all,

    I am using Adaptec CD Creator 5.0 to create VCD's to play on my Toshiba SD-2109Y but they won't work.

    I wondered if anyone had any luck with this, maybe a particular brand of CD or something because I can play commercial VCD's just fine.

    I don't know if this model is CD/R compatable or not.

  2. I have a toshiba 3109 with the same problem, Compatibility list says it will work only with silver media, ever try to find silver media? the computer store guys look at you with a blank stare. Any body know which brand will work?

    The only CDRs that I have seen that may be silver are Memorex and Imation. Both are very reasonably priced.

  4. Old Samsungs are media sensitive too. I've finally found Princo 74s and Vivastar 80s that work for VCD but only 99% reliable. I get the occasional glitch. SVCD spins the CD faster and these are more unreliable. I'm at the point where I am about to ditch the Samsung for something that reads everything. Good luck

  5. Have a Toshiba 2050 Frys brands of CD-R's, 8X looks exactly like the Dye in a CD-RW play great also some 8x or 12x Sony CD-R's will work also.
    Plus its not exactly silver its more like meduim blue-silver.
