I had to order a DVD-RW cause my computer didn't come with any of that stuff, just retrackable cup holder

I know what drives I have, but I dont know what their speed is, or what company they are and so on and so forth. I've looked at some of the details on this forum and they are very detailed and I just dont know a lot about that kind of stuff. Geez whats the big deal?
