I live in Europe with region2 dvd's, and many of them have no option of removing subtitles! VERY annoying since they take much space of the display screen when watching.
So, does anyone know a trick to remove the subtitles when ripping and/or playing the original dvd in my standalone?
As the commercials are annoying in itself, but thats just to rewind or cut out.

I live in Europe too, and I do not get what you mean.
When watching a DVD, do not select, or de-select the subtitles.

I manage to rip the movie without subtitles, but if i want to watch my original dvd there is NO WAY to remove the subtitles. It even say so in the back of the cover. (check egmont releases, as they are worst)
This is very annoying as it takes 20%of the screen!
Does anyone know a trick for removing these? -
i believe some sort of chip is needed for removing this forced subtitles.
If anyone have a solution, or how to get these "chips", i would be glad to hear about it.
